OYFP Partner Profile: Italian Home for Children

The Italian Home is a residential and day treatment facility for emotionally disturbed children of all races, nationalities and religions. The Home has a maximum capacity of 61 children in our two residential programs, an additional 32 children in our therapeutic day program, and 18 children in our East Freetown, MA group home. All our children, boys and girls, range in age from 4 to 14 years old. The Italian Home for Children specializes in the assessment and treatment of a variety of behavioral and mental health concerns.

In fiscal 2004, the Italian Home assisted over 367 children in our long-term, short-term and day programs. Of those children, 95% were from low-income families, 57% were of white non-Hispanic origin, 32% were of Black non-Hispanic origin, 10% were of Hispanic origin and 1% was Native American. The Home provides services to children from throughout Massachusetts.
